Master Class Workshop: Hands-on activity where students participate in learning jazz improvisation through learning to play a blues or other jazz composition, chosen from a variety of different styles. Other content may include concepts for free improvisation, rhythm/groove, chord/scale relationships, intervals, motivic development, etc. Master classes cover rhythm section concepts, listening and interaction, solo improvisation, sound production, and other concepts as they arise. These classes can be for any and all levels, beginner through more advanced players, and include all instruments.

Jazz Ensemble Workshop: This involves participation in your jazz ensemble rehearsal as the director sees fit. Areas include rhythmic phrasing and swing, rhythm section concepts, listening, dynamics and so forth.

Rhythm Section and Combo Workshop: The focus here is to present creative concepts for performing jazz in a small combo environment. Students will work through material provided or material already being played. Subjects include listening, time, improvisation concepts, and group sound. Information provided could include a list of repertoire and recordings.

Composition Master Class/Workshop: Members of the Steve Grover Quartet or Trio are accomplished, recognized jazz composers with awards, commissions and recordings of their original music. This master class could involve the performance of some of this music, as well as ideas about how to approach jazz composition.

In Concert: The Steve Grover Quartet or Trio can provide a variety of concert experiences.
